Wem Angling Club is proud to be a well-run, transparent, and fair organisation. Our constitution and club rules exist to protect our members, our waters, and the long-standing values that make this club what it is.

Whether you’re a new applicant or a lifelong member, it is your responsibility to read, understand, and follow these rules.

How Wem Angling Club Operates
The Club Constitution outlines:

The structure and responsibilities of the Committee

CLUB RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT
Membership, Fishing Etiquette & Behaviour
All members are expected to adhere to the following core rules:

No day tickets – access is strictly for members only

No littering – leave no trace
-
Barbless hooks only on all waters
-
Keepnets allowed only in official matches
-
No night fishing on Tilley Pools
-
All fish must be returned safely – catch & release at all times
-
Respect other anglers and local wildlife
-
Access only permitted during designated hours
-
No guests allowed unless authorised by the Committee
-
All anglers must carry valid membership cards

Failure to comply may result in warnings, suspension, or removal from the club.
DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
What Happens if Rules Are Broken
Fair Process. Serious About Standards.
The club reserves the right to take disciplinary action where rules are breached. This may include:

Temporary suspension of membership

Termination of membership without refund

A hearing before the Committee, if required

All decisions are taken in line with the Constitution and guided by fairness and consistency.
WORK PARTIES & CLUB DUTIES
Pitching In Keeps the Club Running
Support the Club – Support Each Other
​
Members are encouraged to attend work parties throughout the year to help maintain the lakes and surroundings. It’s also a great way to meet fellow members and contribute to the continued success of the club.

Participation is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged.
